Died: July 1, 1927, Ross Township, Michigan

Parents:  George Finlay (1787-1873)

                Rachel Cole (1798-1880)

Husband:  George Hall (1829-1897)

Children:     Ada (Hall) Smith (1858-?) m. Ozro Smith

                    Claude Hall (1875-?)

Laura was born in Alfred, New York in the home of her parents.  In 1842, she moved with her family to Oshtemo, Michigan. Her older brother David, had moved there in the mid 1830s and was in the process building a farm and cheese factory.

About 1857,  she married George Hall.   From Census records,  Laura and George lived in Augusta for their entire adult lives. They had two children (Ada and Claude).

Laura was the last of George Finlay's children to pass away.  Through my family records, I discovered that my Grandfather's cousins Ethel (Finlay) Evans and Hazel (Finlay) Hill talked to Laura about the Finlay family history.  She gave them critical information concerning the family,  George's children, and where they were buried.  She was the last link to George and the early family history in Michigan.
